I love this for counting/ one-to-one correspondence. The cherries are a bit small, so keep this in mind for kids who put things in their mouths or have difficulties with fine motor. I love that the numbers are carved out for tracing. I have students trace the numeral with their finger or the wooden stick provided.

This is a beautiful set that allows children to focus on developing a few specific skill sets without being overwhelmed by a million different functions. The theme is cute and makes it easier for little ones to understand the concept of numbers. Overall it's a really great activity set and will keep the interest of any child!
The only issue is that the small pieces are indeed pretty small...so if you have a toddler who still likes to mouth things or if there is a baby/toddler nearby, you do need to keep a closer eye on the small pieces.
Very impressed with the quality! Would make a great gift!

This is a gorgeous set. Vibrant in color and smooth wood texture. My 3 year old nephew is learning to write his alphabet but I want to help him increase his familiarity with numbers and counting as well. This set has double sided wooden flash cards that he can trace and also add pegs to count. He will be able to see the number alongside the pegs as he counts. It also comes with a little wooden pencil shape used to trace the numbers which are carved into the flash cards. The only negative I can see is that perhaps it should have come with more than one writing instrument but otherwise what an ingenious addition to any child's learning tools!

I got this toy to help teach my daughter about numbers and how to draw them. She really enjoys placing the red apple shapes in the trees! (The little apples are possible choking hazards, so you will need to keep them out of the reach of younger children).
Unfortunately, in my package, the little wooden pencil for drawing the numbers was missing. This wasn't a very big deal to me, since its such a small piece and I have things at home I can use to replace it. But one thing that bothers me a little is how rough the wood is where the numbers are engraved. Little pieces of wood come up when it is rubbed. It would have been better if this part of the wood had also been sanded and sealed.
Overall, this is a really cute, educational tool for preschool aged children.

Got these as a gift for my four year old daughter and I think she’s going to love them. They are really well made and the paint job on them is amazing!

This is perfect! Each board has two sides, one with the number and the other with pictures.
The pegs fit nicely into the holes, but not tight enough to stay in if you flip it over (but you can pick it up and move it with them staying in place.)
You get just enough pegs to put into each board, though I do wish it came with a few extra just in case they get lost.
The pegs are the only plastic pieces in this set. The rest are wooden.
Some of the paint came chipped already, which was disappointing, but not enough for me to take off a star. I feel like there are more positive things to make up for this.
Overall I think this is a great set and I am very happy with it. I can’t wait to start using it!

I had been eying similar Montessori inspired wooden type toys that were counting when I came upon this one as a deal. What sets this apart, besides the great sale price (15.99) is that it's a compact set that can easily be placed on a works station or shelf. Each board fits in it's spot with the pegs included. There are enough pegs to keep the boards full. Unfortunately though if you weeble wobble the tray enough the pegs do fall off. I wish they more firmly pushed in to prevent that. The pen fits into the tray and there is even a workspace to store the pegs to prevent them from rolling everywhere. The pegs themselves are plastic, not wooden. The numbers are all well configured with the style 4 I prefer, but the 9 is the typewritten version rather than its written by hand variation. There is also no line to distinguish between six and nine especially for the tree side. Still this is really a great set and the fact that it has doublesided play is a major bonus.

I am pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of this wooden Montessori toy! It is so well made and so beautiful. I love the colors, the presentation in the packaging... so so so beautiful! My son loved it too, and keeps playing with it.
It is a great toy to learn number, and simple math, counting, addition and subtraction, but it also helps with fine motor skills practicing the pinch grasp with the little pegs, as well as practicing proper pencil grip, and tracing numbers.
The little boards have the number groove to practice tracing, and little holes to put pegs in the correct amount, if you flip the board you see little illustrations of the same amount for that board... like a group of avocados, or apples, etc.
Important to note that the pieces are so smooth, all the corners are rounded, and all the edges are really smooth, so you have to worry about any splinters.
